But: See the pattern Read the writings Quote the masters Sing the songs Watch the stars Say the prayers Light the candles Memorize the texts Perform the ritual Wash in the river Wait Look See All is necessary part of the big picture that we cannot hope to see the darkened mirror . . . what unites us is far far greater than what keeps us apart what heals us is often right in the eyes of our friends.

prayers 4 loan travelling

travelling solo a journey for one seated alone with thoughts is solitude. books read in seclusion under the shelter of loneliness, of isolation. private prayer the unaccompanied monastic life no company in this land I traverse the rocky plains n valleys I seek the secret signs I drink at hidden rivers I see without eyes I hear without ears My confidence ebbs and flows But my love is constant if undefined I voyage without movement I see all in an eye blink I almost choke in the heat I draw my cape around me in the unexpected cold Snow and rain my brothers and sisters, dust ever present. I am guided by forces unseen most present to me when I feel them least. seeking a sign of their presence is futile they remain hidden until i am ready to see.

walks in the dark

dreaming of light surrounded by dark stars hidden behind a velvet cushion their pale radiance subdued my eyes shielded to their brightness i wait in the coolness of the night air my vision scanning the heavens for signs of life my own dims with the constellations cloud covers time a gentle breeze like the years marking moments with peace and refreshment but suddenly dropping away leaving only the summers heat others speak of light as if they know thinking they have seen thinking they have travelled no clouds covered their vision no storms obscured their way perhaps they have perhaps it is only me left to soldier on in the half light but within me all speaks this as untrue I travel alone companions stay only momentarily before pursing their own pathways infrequent guides appear offering only a word before sinking back into the gloom I stumble in the darkness and take blind turns occasional glimpses of starlight give relief for seconds marking the way hinting of futures still concealed

caught by the fuzz

we parked the vehicle blocks away made our way through the stifling summer air through the inner city streets through the throng the faithful the sycophantic the fans sounds carry through the crowds the anticipation touchable we make our way through the gates scanned ticked crossed searched examined finally allowed entrance we find friends n join the throng standing waiting talking most drinking well beyond their meagre capacity the sun sets the lights sparkle the people roar sting andy n stewart hit the stage and begin two hours of non stop hits they're all here message roxy lonely even a few forgotten gems invisible sun synchronicity the crowd goes wild the stage lights flash the visuals fantastic a crawling dinosaur at some point but but while i enjoy the spectacle the sheer massiveness of the event artistically emotionally it left me cold leaves me wondering what did this mean? what impact did the police have when they played in the late 70's? what this lacked was a bit of
